AVERY HUFFMAN DEFEAT DIPG FOUNDATION
Avery Huffman was a beautiful 7-year old from Washington who courageously battled DIPG for 7.5 months and impacted thousands of people worldwide with her brAvery, always AveryStrong during her fight.
The Avery Huffman Defeat DIPG Foundation was established in 2016 to raise awareness and funds for research to find a cure for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, to Defeat DIPG and to honor the legacy of our hero, Avery Huffman.
What is DIPG? Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is a brain tumor found in a part of the brain stem called the pons that affects children almost exclusively of which there is no known cure.

A few days after Avery’s diagnosis, the #AveryStrong movement started, thanks mainly to the courage, grit, fight, strength and toughness of Avery, who while she battled cancer, never gave up. She inspired untold numbers to never give up, to fight and to always be STRONG, which she did every second of her fight. Thousands of people locally and more nationally and globally joined Avery in being #AveryStrong.
Avery’s story was told by numerous media outlets and platforms, including USA Today, Washington Post, Seattle Times, Ventura County Star, Huffington Post, Entertainment Weekly, FOX, NBC, CBS, Sports Illustrated and Scout.
Several high school, college and professional athletes and coaches dedicated their seasons or honored Avery in different ways for her fight.
